The lower jaw and teeth of a 10,000 year old female mammoth that roamed Holyhead are on display. The bones were dredged out of the harbour’s mud when major alterations were being made to the port. The bones were taken to the Natural History Museum in London for safe keeping. The remains were returned to Holyhead and the museum in 2006
